Upper age limit is 28 years for General (UR) candidates. Relaxations in upper age limit are as follows –

Power Grid recruitment through GATE 2018: How to apply?
Eligible candidates may apply through powergridindia.com website. Candidates must have appeared for GATE 2018.
The link for registration on Power Grid website will be made active on 5th January, 2018. The last date to submit the application form online is – 31st January, 2018.

Power Grid GATE 2018 recruitment: Selection process
Eligible candidates, who have registered for Power Grid recruitment will be shortlisted on the basis of category-wise GATE 2018 marks. Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to undergo Group Discussion and Personal Interview.
Shortlisted candidates may download the Interview call letter and other relevant documents by logging into Power Grid Online Application system.
In order to be considered for empanelment, a candidate must qualify in the Personal Interview. The qualifying marks in PI are as follows –
- General category – 40% in PI (Personal Interview)
- OBC/SC/ST/PWD – 30% in PI (Personal Interview)
Final score is used to determine the empanelment status of a candidate. Final score is derived after combining GATE score, GD score and PI score (in different weightage). The weightage of each score is as follows –
- GATE score – 85%
- GD (Group Discussion) – 3%
- Personal Interview – 12%
Final appointment will be issued to deserving candidates on the basis of final merit score and vacancy. They shall be notified via Power Grid Online Application system.
